After a week off The Vets returned to action against Knollmead. The game was only a few minutes old when Knollmead were awarded a corner. Slack defending from the OR's allowed the forward space to pivot and bury a half volley, giving the home team the lead. The half continued to be evenly fought until Knollmead created a good couple of chances ably dealt with by Heal in the Ruts goal. A lenient referee allowed a penalty shout to go unawarded for Knollmead after half hour. This seemed to wake The Ruts up and they began to pass the ball around and have more confidence in possession. This led to the equalizer as Cook managed to beat the offside trap and slot the ball home. The second half saw The Ruts defending the hill and become more camped in their own half. A couple of well taken goals from the Knollmead Centre Forward and a reply with his 2nd from Cook meant the game was competitive throughout. Tiredness from both teams was apparent as the goals began to go in. 2 well taken finishes from Whiter and 1 from Young were not quite enough for The Ruts to get anything from the game losing 6-5.
