last week the ruts vets beat whittan 3-1 away at barn elms in a scrappy encounter on a small pitch which restricted our passing game as it was easier to be closed down and pressed by opponents which to be fair we dont enjoy as we like time on the ball to play our passing game so the pitch suited whitten better as they are not one of the stronger teams we play, that said we showed good battling displays and took a 2-0 lead through d.knott & s,minnihane,2nd half whitten pulled a goal back with probably best goal of the game from 20 yd strike in top corner before darren knott restored our two goal lead from the penalty spot.Although not particulary enjoyable game we were never really under much threat with defence rarely troubled, thanks to bezza and hully for turning out as we were bit short last week.
